Dr. Emilio has been a practicing dentist for 27 years, and works in our Norwalk, CT location.
Tell us about yourself
My goal as a dentist is to create an environment that can help patients achieve their smile dreams, and which will, in turn, bring more patients to the practice to receive care. I see this as a continuing cycle of care. I love coming into my office — a Greater Source has put me here for this job, and I never plan to retire!
What do you enjoy most about being a dentist?
What I enjoy most about being a dentist is the patients! I thrive on the everyday engagement and interaction with them. The opportunity to catch up with their families and learn about new things happening in their lives has always been the most rewarding part of my day.
What motivated you to become a dentist?
I initially wanted to be a dentist because, as a thirteen-year-old, I was drawn to the appealing lifestyle, flexible schedule, and nice cars. As I matured, I realized dentistry aligned with my natural skills. I enjoy the mechanical aspects, applying scientific principles, creating art, and engaging in mental gymnastics. Beyond the cliché of improving smiles, dentistry allows me to positively impact people's lives daily, providing a greater sense of purpose.
What do you like to do
outside of work?
In my free time, I enjoy reading biographies, science fiction and books about astrophysics. Cutting my lawn, weight training, traveling, and getting out of the house for skiing and target shooting are some ways that I like to clear my mind. A huge achievement that I am very proud of, is that I am a PADI-certified scuba diver. Additionally, I am a fan of anything car-related, including Formula One and amateur Porsche and BMW racing.
What is one fun fact
about yourself?
I acquired blackbelt status over many years-started at 8 years old and studied martial arts into my college years. As a teenager, I competed kickboxing at the amateur level.
